This is a fantastic knife. The blade is sharp, holds an edge well, and resharpens easily. The action is clean and easy to manage with a simple flick of the thumb. One handed closure is just as easy. The handle is sturdy and fits my hand well. And lastly the pocket clip works. I have owned this knife for about 3 years and never go anywhere without it. If it has one drawback, it is weight. Feels just a little too heavy in the pocket. I would highly recommend this knife to anyone looking for a strong, durable folder.

It took me years to decide. This is the perfect knife. My Sere Mini is always with me. Perfect size, quality blade and great manufacturing. It is a 10 all day. Thank you.

Outstanding knife! The smoothest, most solid folder I have ever handled (and then bought!). Flicks open with a positive lock. At that point it feels like a fixed blade. Holds an edge like no other. Very highly recommended!

Daily pocket-carried and used for over 5 years now. Traveled all over the world, mostly for photo adventure and fishing (Zambezi, Chobe, Amazon, Zacambu etc.). VG10 steel is easy to maintain and still bright. I had to replace the delrin/nylon pivot bushings recently, used brass shim stock. Proven old-school liner lock mechanism always engages, even when muddy. Large handle a major plus for me. Highly Recommended.

I have owned mine for 10 yrs now and it has held up to a bunch of use and abuse, the only thing I would suggest if it hasn’t already been done is to cut a relief on Both sides of the handle for the thumb stud to Truly make it ambidextrous.

I’ve carried this knife every day for the better part of a decade. It’s worth the investment. After years of construction site abuse the only replacement part ordered is a pocket clip.

I’ve had a SERE 2000 for a few years, one of my favorite knives to carry. Holds and edge well and always is smooth.

I have had this knife over 10 years now. I have abused and used in every environment on the earth. It will not fail any task I have put it to. I have many other knives but none can equal the quality, versatility and sheer toughness of my AL MAR SERE 2000. It behaves more like a fixed blade than a folder!

I have worked for the Government for the last 15 years. During a large portion of that time I have carried my SERE 2000 everyday and it has met every task it has been presented with. The knife has been in wet weather, hot weather, sand and mud and has always functioned flawlessly. The SERE maintains it’s edge and is easy to resharpen. Opening and closing has always been reliable and can be accomplished with one hand. Best knife I have ever owned and would highly recommend this to anyone who needs a reliable, sturdy folding knife.

I bought one of these years ago. Must have been awhile, the price then was around 220. Used it in construction, manufacturing, EDC. Had it in Alaska when I had to cut up a helicopter cargo net, 2″ webbing soaked with sand- had about 100 cuts to make and sharpened it on a smooth piece of river rock when the sand ate the edge. Used it later after a raft overturned and lost most of the gear except for the sere in my pocket. Works great for opening tin cans. That false edge bevel makes it easy to turn the curve on the lid. Couple tins of food and a small bottle go a long way when you are tired and cold! That was my last wilderness trip with my father. Showed the knife to the vendor after some years and he was amazed at how worn it was. It was used hard, and at least a 1/4″ worn off from sharpening. Good knife, very strong, easy to hold. I put it in my checked luggage on my last Alaska trip and some Terminally Stupid Asshole stole it. Had a lot of memories in that thing. Doubt I will ever afford another but if you have the ,buy it, you will not be disappointed. It will hold up after all the fancy “knife collector” type blades have turned into dust.
